Is Online Social Networking Changing Your Brain?
As I was standing in a line at a fast-casual restaurant one day, I noticed something: Nearly everyone in front of me had their heads down, staring intently at their smartphones. Even people who clearly came to the restaurant together were not interacting with each other. And no one seemed to mind.
Most will agree that the rapid rise of the internet, social networking, and digital technology over the past few years has permanently changed the way humans socialize and interact. Does, or will, this have any effect on our brain? It’s too early to say, but here’s what we do know.
