It’s interesting to note that all four of the companies listed have various different core business models (hardware, search, retail, software) but they have all in recent years come to create personal computing devices with their own operating system running on top of the device and additionally these entertainment ecosystems.

In the popular HBO TV series The Wire, drug dealers would get pre-paid cell phones to make deals on and then get rid of the phones so quickly that the feds couldn’t get a wire tap in place fast enough to track/listen to their calls. These temporary phones were called Burners. Now, a new app called Burner is available which enables iPhone users to create temporary phone numbers that can be disposed of after a single use, or multiple uses.
“Burner is an app and service that you can get a single use disposable phone number for whatever use you might need it for.” (dope boys everywhere rejoice)

There are a ton of these on the net. However, I was impressed by the “pay with a Tweet” feature. It was simply explained, and neatly presented.
Facebook Camera is similar to Instagram but it isnt Instagram. The new photo sharing app seems to be suited for the “Facebook” crowd. They want something like Instagram but arent interested in becoming familiar with another social network.
Functionally speaking this is a huge step for Facebook’s mobile reputation. The comments, tagging, and sharing works just ask you would expect!
